The 24th Georgia, Co. H

Civilians:

An equally important part of the 24th Georgia Regiment, Co. H Volunteers is our Civilian contingent.  They too play an important role in reenacting and living history.

Our Civilians portray a number of impressions basic to the common man or woman doing their part on both the home front and behind the lines.  Whether man, woman, or child, there is a place for all in Civilian reenacting.

The Captain of the company appoints one individual in the civilian contingent to act as the "Civilian Point of Contact".  This person will represent the Civilians to coordinate and communicate the civilian plans and activities between the companies Military and Civilian contingency.  Our by-laws describe in detail the duties of the Civilian POC.

Our Civilians are active through out the year both at our events and at various other activities such as teas, and living history presentations.  Our Civilians set-up their camps within the military camp and/or a designated civilian camp at events.  Civilian camp is always a pleasant place to be.  You will certainly hear the cheerful voices of the children, to the warm conversation of the adults.

If the Military is not your cup of tea, Civilian reenacting may be just what you're looking for!
