The 24th Georgia, Co. H
![]()
Military:
The primary function of this organization is to portray a confederate military unit to our general public. Reenacting and portraying a military unit requires the command structure of a Confederate Infantry Company during The War of Northern Aggression.
Commanding the 24th Ga., Co. H is the
Captain. His post is one of authority but not one of power and he is first
and foremost dedicated to the service of the unit and it's members. The
Captain is also the Company "Point of Contact" (POC) and commands the
administrative requirements to run the organization. Our
by-laws describes in detail all the responsibilities
of the Captain as Commander of the company.
Equally important to the command structure of the unit, the Captain is aided by a supporting field staff. Included in the field staff is an additional officer, 2nd Lieutenant, and the non-commissioned officers. The non-commissioned officers do their part in making the unit function both properly and safely. The leading NCO is the 1st Sergeant. The 1st Sergeant's support to the rank and file is a most important part of the units ability to function well, both on and off the field. The remaining NCO's, sergeants and corporals, make up the remainder of the field staff.
From all walks of life, the men that make up the rank and file of Company H are some of the finest reenactors you'll ever share a campfire with. Whether it's the comradery shared around the campfire or the pard standing beside you as the battle unfolds before you, these men join together in making the life of the common soldier come alive. Men of all ages and backgrounds are all part of what makes the "Currahee Rangers" what it is. These men experience first hand all the sights and sounds of the American Civil War.
